=====Funeral services for
Elbert Doughty, 83, of Jonesville, were held at 2 p.m.Saturday at Pleasant
Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. James Buzbyofficiating, assisted by the
Revs. Claudia Jenkins and Mack Walker.Burial was in Heard Cemetery, under
the direction of Young's Funeral Home.Doughty died March 28 in Catahoula
Parish Hospital following a brief illness.He was a lifetime resident of
Jonesville and a member of Pleasant GroveBaptist Church.  He was preceded in
death by a son, James Edward Doughty.Survivors include his wife Louise
Doughty of Jonesville; three sons, CharlesM. Doughty of Jonesville, and Roy
E. Doughty and Alvin L. Doughty, both ofVidalia; five grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.Pallbearers were Gordon McCarver, David Guinn,
Clarence Pentecost, DavidYoung, Walter Ellard and Jim Mullins.(Note:  James
Elbert Doughty was the son of Manuel Doughty and Mollie Gwinn,born December
24, 1901 - died March 28, 1985 - married Bertha Louise Young onJanuary 6,
