Harry HarveyWASHINGTON - Funeral services for Mr. Harry P. Harvey, 80, will
be held (time pending)Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here
with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.Mr. Harvey, a resident of Washington and
a native of Melville, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday,February 27, 2002, in
Opelousas General Hospital. He was a retired supervisor from Exxon with42
years of services and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, served in World War II.
Mr. Harvey was amember of the Jasper Neylen American Legion Post in
Washington and the Exxon Annuant club.He was a Town Councilman for the town
of Washington.Survivors include: a son, Harry Harvey Jr. of Prairieville and
wife Sheila; a daughter, SusanLynette Darbonne of Slaughter and her husband
Robert (Bobby); a brother, George Rhea Harveyof Baton Rouge; two sisters,
Louise LeDoux of Opelousas and Eva Goudeau of Lafayette; fivegrandchildren,
Robby Darbonne of Baton Rouge, Jennifer D. Millican and Justin Harvey, both
ofZachary, Cody Darbonne of Slaughter, and Kristen Rhea Harvey of Albany,
Ga.; agreat-grandchild, Hunter Lee Millican of Zachary; and a special
friend, Vela Montgomery ofWashington.Mr. Harvey was preceded in death by his
wife, Beverly Joubert Harvey; his parents, BennetteRhea Harvey and the
former Elizabeth Nolan; two brothers, Willie and James Harvey; and
threesisters, Tumpy Ventre, Dorthea Harvey and Florence LeDoux.Pallbearers
will be Harry Harvey Jr., Justin Harvey, Bobby Darbonne, Robby Darbonne,
CodyDarbonne, Randy Meche, Charles Ventre and George Rhea Harvey.Visiting
hours will be observed from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. Friday until
time ofservices. A rosary will be recited.Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the
Old Sunset Road in Opelousas is in charge of
