Last Rites Held for Harrisonburg Man Last Friday - Funeral services for
LouisFranklin Hughes were held at Harrisonburg's Methodist Church at 2:00
p.m.October 16.  The Rev. Virgile Culpepper administered last rites.Mr.
Hughes died of cancer in the Jonesville clinic at 2:00 p.m. October 15,after
a month's illness.  He was born in Harrisonburg June 13, 1881.Mrs. Laura
Whatley, a cousin of Jena, was listed as a survivor.  Internmentwas in the
Harrisonburg cemetery, under the direction of Kinner and StevensFuneral Home
of Jena.(Note:  Louis Franklin Hughes was the son of Benjamin Frank Hughes
and Mary E.Hanks)
