Committed Without Bail  The preliminary investigation of the killing of Mr.
R. S. Metcalfe by Mr. J. W. Wiggins on Nov. 3rd., was had before Judge Dagg
at this place Monday last.  The only evidence tendered was that on behalf of
the State.  This was from an eye witness who saw the killing and heard what
passed, and established such a case as to leave no discretion or other
alternative on the part of the Judge but to commit the accused to jail
without the benefit of bond, which was done.
