Graveside services for Mr. Lester Dee Simms, 89, will be held at2:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 9, 1994 at Salem Cemetery near Athens, La. with Rev.Bentley
L. Masingill officiating.Mr. Simms died Friday, April 8, 1994 at Homer
Memorial Hospital following along illness.  He was a retired operator for
United Gas Pipeline and aMethodist.He was preceded in death by his wife,
Helen Hanks Simms, and a son Phillip W.Simms.He is survived by a brother,
E.E. Simms of Olla, La.; seven grandchildren,four great-grandchildren,
numerous nieces and nephews.  Rose-Neath Funeral Home(Note:  Lester Dee
Simms was married to Helen Marguerite Hanks, daughter ofMary Edith Young and
Giles Richmond Hanks.  Helen Marguerite Hanks was bornJune 14, 1913 and died
November 1985.  Her mother, Mary Edith Young, was thedaughter of William
Young and Martha Elizabeth Hughes of Catahoula Parish,La.)Submitted by Carol
