Born in Catahoula Parish, La., Mr. Taylor had been a resident of Orange 35 years. He was part owner of the Heard-Taylor rice farms in the northern section of Orange county. He was also a cattleman. Former president of the Little Cypress School Board, he was at the time of his death secretary of the Little Cypress Fair association and an active member of the Little Cypress Baptist church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Altonie Taylor; one son, John Francis Taylor; and two brothers, J. A. Taylor of Manifest, La., and Horace Taylor of Alexandria, La. Funeral services will be held at the home of J. B. Heard in Little Cypress, where the body will lie in state until time for the services there at 3 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Jay Roy Weber, pastor of the North Orange Baptist church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. W. W. Kennedy, pastor of the McDonald Baptist church of Orange. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery under direction of the Wheeler Funeral Home. Those to serve as pallbearers will are R. H. Hall, George Hudson, James A. Pennington, M. L. Linscomb, Frank Clark and L. Honeycutt. Friends of the family have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.
