Obit of Mrs. M.E. Young - Catahoula Parish, Louisiana Submitted by Carol Young Knight Source: Old local newspaper - 1888 Date: 1999 ********************************************** Copyright. Young was born on Little River, Catahoula Parish, La. in 1841. She was married to William Young in 1856, died February 16, 1888 of Tyhoid Pneumonia. She joined the Methodist church many years ago, and retained her membership in the same until her connection with it was dissolved by death. We have reasons to believe that loss to the church below is one more gained to the church above. She leaves a husband and nine children to feel the heavy stroke. But with the facts before us, they need not "Sorrow as those who love no hope." "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord" brings comfort to the stricken hearts when all else fails. May God graciously sanctify this dispensation to the final, eternal salvation of husband and children, who, doubtless realize the vacuum death has made in the broken family circle. W.P. Kimball (Note: Martha Elizabeth Hughes was the daughter of John C. Hughes and Melitha Hanes, born December 18, 1840 - married William Young March 6, 1856. She is buried beside her husband in the Young Cemetery near Little River, Catahoula Parish, La.) Submitted by Carol Young Knight
