Turn left on Field Road and go 3.4 miles (paved road turns to gravel road upon entering Claiborne Parish; will also pass Macedonia Cemetery on the left). Park and locate 4 huge oak trees on right hand side of road, approximately 75 yards out. The two Perritt markers are underneath the center oak tree. Notes: Both Perritt markers are broken but still readable. Jane Perritt's grave is sunken in about two feet. According to an elder, at one time there were more graves here, but I could find no sign of other graves or markers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NAME BORN DIED Inscriptions Perritt, Jane 15 Mar 1820 22 Dec 1901 "Wife of William Perritt" "Our Mother's Grave" "Holy Bible" "Alas she has left us her spirit has fled.
