All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** State of Louisiana Parish of Claiborne Be it remembered that on this the Seventeenth day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty four at my office in the Town of Homer in said Parish and State in pursuance of a commission issued and to me directed by D. Henry DYER Clerk of the District Court in and for said Parish authorising and requiring me John W. HARRISON Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public in and for said Parish and State duly commissioned and qualified as such to convoke and hold a family meeting composed of the relations and friends of Mary Jane and Polly Dyer Heirs of John BILBO Deceased and issues of his marriage with Jane Ann STEVENSON also deceased to deliberate and consult-as to the best interest of said minors and particularily as to the propriety of authorising the sale of the interest of said minors in a certain tract of Land lying and being situated in the Parish of Calcasieu and State of Louisiana said Land being situated on Lake Charles in said Parish and it being the same Land on which the parish Site of said Parish of Calcasieu is partly situated. The Family Meeting having been set to be holde__ on the Tenth day of March Instant. But in consequence of the absences of two of the members composing said family meeting to wit: James DYER and M. P. BARNETT Said family meeting was adjourned until the 17th Instant as aforesaid at which time I said Recorder proceeded to convoke and assemble a family Meeting composed of James P. STEVENSON, James DYER, James A. MILLICAN, Thomas BILBO and M. P. BARNETT Relatives and friends of said minors residing in the Parish and State aforesaid. Who after being by me first duly sworn according to Law to inquire and deliberate as to the propriety of recommending the Sale of the interest of Said minors in the aforesaid described Land. And after due deliberation of the members composing said Family Meeting they believe it to be to interest of the aforesaid and recommend that their interest in the aforesaid described Land should be sold and that the Administrator of the Estate of Thomas Bilbo Deceased be authorized to Sell the interest of Said Minors in Said Land according to Law either a credit or for cash. If said Land Should be sold on a credit the said Adminstrator Shall take notes payble to James DYER under Tutor of said minors for the amount of their interest in said Land bearing 8 per sent interest from the day of Sale said sale being recommended upon these conditions that if Mrs. Ann BILBO, wife of Thomas BILBO, decd. Consent to said Sale upon the above conditions. And there being no other business necessary for consulation relative to the interest of said minors the deliverations of this Family Meeting Closed. In testimony of all the above written I the Said Recorder have caused the members above mentioned hereunto to sign their names presence witness who are lawful age and domiciled in said Parish and State who I have caused hereunto to sign their names together with the said Members and Me the Said Recorder- All of the above and foregoing having been read in a clear and audable Voice by Me the said Recorder before signing.
