Christian Claiborne Parish, Louisiana Probate #2771 Filed 19 December 1933 To the Honorable Judge of the Second Judicial District Court holding sessions in and for Claiborne Parish, Louisiana The petition of Mrs. Mary A. Christian, nee Odom; of William B. Christian; of Mrs. Sarah Monk, nee Christian; of Mrs. Mattie Meadows, nee Christian; and of A. O. Christian, all residents of Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, except Mrs. Mattie Christian Meadows, who is a resident of Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, with respect, represents: 1. That your petitioner Mrs. Mary A. Christian is the mother of John W. Christian, deceased, and that your petitioners William B. Christian, Mrs. Sarah Christian Monk, Mrs. Mattie Christian Meadows and A. O. Christian are full brother and sisters of John W. Christian, deceased, and that your petitioners are the sole and only heirs of John W. Christian, deceased, and as such are entitled to his succession and estate. 2. Petitioners further show the Court that the said John W. Christian died intestate, without issue, having never been married, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, on the 13th day of October, 1918; that his domicile and residence prior to his death was Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. 3. That the said John W. Christian was a member of the United States forces engaged in war with Germany and at the time of his death carried with the United States Government a term insurance policy on his life, payable, in the event of his death, in monthly installments to his father, Elijah Obed Christian, and in the even of the death of Elijah Obed Christian to his, said John W. Christian's, estate in one settlement. 4. That the said Elijah Obed Christian died intestate in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, on September 13, 1933, and therefore, the proceeds of said term insurance policy is now payable to the Estate of John W. Christian, deceased, in one sum in the proportions hereinafter set forth; that the amount due under said term insurance policy with the United States is the sum of Three Thousand, One Hundred Seventy-Four (43174.00) Dollars. 5. Your petitioners show the Court that they have accepted the estate and succession of John W. Christian unconditionally, and that there are no debts due and owing by said succession of John W. Christian, deceased. 6. And now your petitioners show the Court that before the United States Government will pay to your petitioners the amount of the aforesaid term insurance, it is required that an administrator be appointed by your Honorable Court for the purpose of receiving and distributing the proceeds of said term insurance policy. 7. Your petitioners further show the Court that they desire that William B. Christian, one of your petitioners herein, be appointed by your Honorable Court as administrator of the estate and succession of John W. Christian, deceased, for the purpose of receiving from the United States Government the amount due the estate of John W. Christian, deceased, under said term insurance and disburse the same to the heirs according to law. 8. That when the said John W. Christian died, his estate was inherited by the following named persons, in the proportions set opposite their names, to-wit: Elijah Obed Christian father one-fourth Mrs. Mary A. Christian mother one-fourth William B. Christian brother one-tenth Mrs. Sarah Christian Monk sister one-tenth Mrs. Mattie Christian Meadows sister one-tenth A. O. Christian brother one-tenth James A.
