Succession of Simon Green Spears
Claiborne Parish, Louisiana

Tutorship of minor children:
     To the honorable Judge of the third District of Louisiana in and for
the Parish of Claiborne.  The petition of Mrs. Martha E. Spears, a resident of
said parish, with respect shows that her husband, S. G. Spears, departed this
life sometime in the month of Sept. 1895 leaving the following minor
children--Barney, Claud, and Lizzie, I. B., Emmett, issue of her marriage with
her deceased husband, S. G. Spears, he also left some property both real and
personal in said parish. She further affirms that there are no debts of
consequence and there is no need of an administration.  Wherefore she prays
that she be confirmed as natural tutrix of her minor children and that J. A.
Odom be appointed and confirmed as undertutor for said minors.  That a
commission issue to Drew Ferguson, clerk of District Court of said Parish,
authorizing him to make and take inventory and appraisement of all the
property of her decd husband's estate, prays for all orders necessary and
general relief.
