Certificate of Disability for Discharge Army of the Confederate States Private J. C. Johnston of Captain S. Acock Company G of the 25th La. Regiment of Confederate States Army, was enlisted by Lt. Lesli of the 25th Regiment of La. Vol. at Monroe on the 11th day of April 1862 to serve three years or the war. He was born in Talbot County in the State of Georgia, is 22 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, fair complexion, hazel eyes, light hair, and by occupation when enlisted, a farmer. During the last two months said soldier has been unfit for duty sixty days. Commander's Min. Oct. 31st 1862 We certify that we have carefully examined the said J. C. Johnston of Captain S. Acock's Company, and find him incapable of performing the duties of a soldier, because of Hepatic Abcess of left lobe and recommend he be discharged. B. B. Drane, MD J. B.
