A.S. Carson died at the parish poor house last Sunday. He was from Winston, Miss., and had left there, where he had a family, on account of some trouble in which he had been involved. He came to this parish a short time since an set in to make a crop near Lisbon, but his health failed, his money give out and he was sent to the poor house. He appeared to be a well raised man. A letter was received from Mississippi after Carson’s death stating that his troubles there had been about settled and asking that good care be taken of him as he was innocent. Carson had told parties before his death that he had been involved in trouble and had shot two men. –Homer Journal. # # #
