Original newspaper name and date of publication unknown. J. H. Kirkpatrick Dies At Home In Homer Friday J. H. Kirkpatrick, 73 years old, who retired from the office of United States marshal for the western district of Louisiana with headquarters here two years ago, died at his home in Homer, La., Friday night at 11 o'clock, it was learned here early this morning. Mr. Kirkpatrick had been in failing health since before his retirement, and had been seriously ill for several months prior to his death. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Methodist church of Homer, the Rev. Ellis Smith, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Arthur Evans, pastor of the Homer Presbyterian church. Services at the cemetery will be under the auspices of the Homer Masonic lodge, of which he was a member. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a native of Claiborne Parish, and was active in political affairs, serving Claiborne as sheriff for 16 years prior to this appointment as United States marshal. He was born in Claiborne, October 10, 1852, and was married March 27, 1882, to Miss Susan Ramsey of Homer, who died several years ago. He is survived by three sons, Hugh and Harold Kirkpatrick, of Homer, and Dr. Charles Kirkpatrick, of Marshall, TX. # # #
