Services for Mrs. Modena A. Lowrey, 78, will be held at 10 a.m. , Saturday, March 4, 1995 at the Lisbon Methodist Church with Rev. Homer Bailes officiating, assisted by Rev. Rusty Gilbert. Burial will be at Lisbon Method Cemetery. Mrs. Lowrey died Wednesday, March 1 1995 at the Presbyterian Village Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Harris, LA. and was a resident of Lisbon for 57 years. Mrs. Lowrey was a retired teacher from the Claiborne Parish Schools where she taught for 32 years and was a member of the Lisbon Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parent, John and Inez Adkins; her husband, F. M. Lowrey and son, J. B. Adkins. She is survived by one son, John William Lowrey and wife Kristin of Simi Valley, CA; two daughters, Rebecca Earp and husband Wayne of Bossier City, Marilyn Myers of Lisbon; two sisters, Eloise Bennett, Maxine Mayo and husband, Ray; brother, Vernon C. Adkins and wife, Christine; special friend, Laura Carathers; six grandchildren, Joan Lowrey, Dena David, Baxter Earp, Blair Myers, Julia and David Lowrey; numerous loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Danny Suggs, Maxie White, James Edward Scriber, Joe Edward McDonald, Robert "Bubba" McClung, Robert McAdams, Cody and Brad Mayo. Memorial may be made to the Lisbon Methodist Church.
