Prather, mother of our esteemed friend J. W. Prather, died in the 6th inst. at the home of her son-in-law Mr. J. F. Ford, of Lisbon. Mrs. Prather was in her 76 year. She has lived a useful life and an honor to the country in which she lived, and has been a member of the Baptist church for 50 years. Her maiden name was Glaze, she has several sisters who belong to the most prominent families of the parish, namely, Mrs. Thornton Bridgeman, Mrs. Mancrief (sic) and others. There were 14 children in all in the family. So ends a life of usefulness. God bless the mothers of our land.
