James A.J. Smith     State of Louisiana } To Benj. F. Lambright Esquire, or to any
      To             Parish of Claiborne} Minister of the Gospel or Justice of the
Rosinia Cupp         Peace authorized to celebrate marriage within the parish of
                     Claiborne, "Greetings" You are hereby authorized and empowered
                     to celebrate marriage between Mr. James A.J. Smith and Rosina
                     Cupp both residents of said parish and State, to join these
                     together in holy wedlock according to laws given under my hand
                     and seal of the district court this 17th day of May A.D. 1851

                     State of Louisiana } In presence of the foregoing license I have
                     Parish of Claiborne} celebrated marriage between Mr. James A.J.
                     Smith and Wife Rosinia Cupp according to  law.  In testimony
                     where of I have issued the parties to sign their names hereto
                     in presence of the subscribing witnesses this 25 day of May A.D.
