SEPT. 25, 1841 COMMUNICATION: from Carroll Parish: A meeting of the bar and citizens of the parish of Carroll, LA convened at the courthouse on Tuesday, the 14th instante --- Dr. Addison DASHIELL was called to the chair and Dr. Thomas V. DAVIS constituted secretary, when the chair having briefly stated that the meeting had been called upon the intellengence of the recent and unexpected death of the honorable B. G. TENNEY, judge of this district. Colonel Browder rose and addressed the meeting... ... that the premature death of the honorable B. G. TENNEY, excites the most melanchoney feelings not only from the consciousness of his merit, and the recollection of his having left many warm friends who respected him living and deeply regret his death but which have been greatly enhanced by his falling in a duel. MURDERED: We are pained to announce that Mr. Samuel S. FOX was found on Saturday morning last in a field, horribly mangled and shot.--Richmond, La Compiler. A RICH MAN - GONE: Henry BREVOORT, One of the richest men in NY died in that city on Sunday last, aged nearly 100 years. He is thought to have been worth more than $2,000,000. He was originally a market gardener and many years ago purchased for about $500 a small strip of land, which was then looked upon as in the county. It is now the very center of business in NY and of course has increased immensley in value. He held it until his death.--Baltimore Sun. SAT.
