PARISH PLANTER KILLED BY CAR, LAID TO REST

   A. P. Abell, 82 year-old retired planter of Concordia Parish died Thursday
morning at 8 o'clock at a hospital in Natchez, Miss., where he was taken fol-
lowing injuries received Wednesday before last at Deer Park, fifteen miles south
of Vidalia, when he was struck by a motorcar of the Texas and Pacific railroad.
   Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon in Winnsboro.  Abell, who has
been making his home with this daughter, Mrs. J. Edward Burns at Deer Park for
the past six years came here from Monroe.
   Mrs. Burns is the only surviving relative.
