Brownell died Friday, March 30 in Ferriday. He was born April 30, 1921 in Winnsboro to Floyd and Annie Missouri Brownell. He was a farmer and a sign painter. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Minnie Lee Jordan Brownell; two brothers, Charles Brownell and Randy Brownell. JAMES CRAWFORD GERBISH Services for James Crawford Gerbish, 79, of Jonesville were held Monday, April 2, 2001 at First Baptist Church in Vidalia under the direction of Comer Funeral Home. The Revs. Mack Walker and Gary Nunn officiated. Burial followed at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, La. Gerbish died March 31, 2001 at Riverland Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1921 in Gilmer, Texas to Charles and Letha Gerbish. He retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company as a forklift operator. He had been a resident of Concordia and Catahoula parishes since 1978 and was a former resident of Vidalia. Survivors include his wife, Violet Ryan Gerbish, Jonesville; one stepson, Randy Poole, DeKalb, Texas; two step daughters, Jennie Moore, Navarra, Fla. and Sue Ann Easterling, Vidalia; one brother, Frank Gerbish, Vidalia; one sister, Sallie Currey, Hugh Springs, Texas and seven grandchildren. CLARENCE KING Services for Clarence King, 69, of Vidalia will be held Friday, April 6, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ in Natchez under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, April 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Concordia with Elder Dave York Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at National Cemetery in Natchez with full military honors. King died Friday, March 30 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Miss. He was born December 31, 1931 in Vidalia to John and Mary Woods King. He was retired from the U.S. Army with over 20 years of services. He served as superintendent of the church and Sunday School teacher; he served on the board of trustees; member of the Pride of Vidalia #106 Masonic Lodge and was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Fleming King, Vidalia; three sons, Clarence King Jr. and Sam King and wife Latricia all of Vidalia; Marvin King, San Antonio; three daughters, Mildred Williams and Angela King both of Vidalia; Mary Means, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Israel King, Baton Rouge; one sister, Louise Yearby, Vidalia; six grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She helped establish River of Life Church in Montgomery, Texas and River of God Church in Kingwood, Texas. She was a member of Tribe of Judah motorcycle ministries, director of Public Relations for Houston Food Bank and was a Prayer Intercessory for local ministries and ministries abroad. She was preceded in death by her father; husbands, Carl Ben Priest and William W. Selman and one step son, Billy Selman. Burial followed at Jena Cemetery under direction of Young's. Wiggins died Wednesday, March 28 in Alexandria, La. He was born June 17, 1928 in Jonesville to Warren and Ruby Wiggins. He served in the U. S. Navy for 30 years. He served in World War II, Korean War, Lebanon Crisis, Cuban Crisis, and Vietnam War. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association, the V. F. W. and Four Rivers for All Vets. H was associated with Recovery of Astronauts and was former Justice of the Peace, in Catahoula parish. He was also a member of Wallace Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Lee Wiggins and his sister, Von Duvall. She was born December 16, 1904 in Ogden Plantation in Catahoula Parish to Edward and Rose Mary Dayton. She was a homemaker, a member of First United Methodist Church of Jonesville, a member of the DAR and was owner of one of the first beauty shops in Jonesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. C. "Brother" Beard; her parents; three brothers, Henry, Ed and John Dayton, three sisters, Mary Kirby, Emiline Wurster and Rowena Frisbe; one granddaughter, Cathy Andrews and one son-in-law, H. P. Burial followed at Louis White Cemetery near Monterey under direction of Comer. White died Monday, April 9 at Riverland Medical Center. She was born September 29, 1906 in Monterey to Jessie and Ramoth Enlow. She was a life long resident of Monterey and a member of the World Wide Church of God. She was a retired teacher, teaching at Wildsville Elementary where she later became principal. She taught in the Concordia Parish School system for 33 years before retiring in 1963. She was also a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Gibbs and second husband, Louis White; a sister, Thelma Girliunghouse, five brothers, Clinton Enlow, Jim Enlow, Malcolm Enlow, Killen Enlow and Harley Enlow and a grandson, John Gibbs. She was born December 27, 1919 in Harrisonburg to Sidney and Ellen D. Jones. She was a retired LPN and a member of Dunbarton Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Ferriday for fifty- five years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Crum and one son Daniel Glenn Crum and a stepdaughter Ruby Crum Dean. He was a life long resident of Ferriday where he was the Data Processing Manager for Concordia Electric and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ferriday. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Concordia Fire District No. 2 and was a training officer reaching CPR and First Aid. Survivors include his parents, A.
