SAM BAILEY

   Services for Sam Bailey, 81, of St. Joseph will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday,
January 2, 1997 at Guildfield Missionary Baptist Church in St. Joseph under the 
direction of Concordia Funeral Home.  The Rev. Michael R. Reed will officiate.
   Burial will follow at Union Fraternal Cemetery in St. Joseph under the 
direction of Concordia.
   Mr. Bailey died December 27, 1996 at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah.  He
was born August 31, 1915 in Minden, La., to Richard and Nora Bailey.
   He was the owner and retired funeral director for Bailey Funeral Home in St.
Joseph.  Mr. Bailey was a deacon at Guildfield Missionary Baptist, a charter
member of the Pride of Tensas Lodge #99 and served as district director for many
years.  He was a 33rd degree Mason and a veteran of World War II.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosia Lee Brent.
   Pallbearers will be Brothers of Pride of Tensas Lodge #99.
