Dorothy Buchanan

Funeral services for Dorothy Buchanan, age 84, of Vidalia, will be held at 
Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Rev. 
Ron Ledford officiating. Interment will follow at Acme Cemetery under the 
direction of Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Mrs. Buchanan was born March 29, 1922 in Vidalia. She died Friday, July 14, 
2006 at Natchez Community Hospital in Natchez, Mississippi.
She was a retired librarian and mail carrier in Vidalia and a member of 
Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Starling Earl Jones; second 
husband, Royce Buchanan; brother, Cameron Pruitt; and mother, Nellie David 
Pruitt.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Lawrence of Jonesville and 
granddaughter, Wendy and husband Nelon Meylian of Alexandria.

Pallbearers will be Dan Harper, Morris harper and Don Finlay.

The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday from 5 p.m. 
until 9 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006.
