F. Burns, prominent planter and member of the Police Jury of Concordia parish, who died following a stroke of paralysis at the home of his brother, H. H. Burns in Monroe Thursday. At the time of his death Burns was ___ years of age. Interment was made at the family plot in the Winnsboro cemetery Friday afternoon. Operating a large plantation near Deer Park for a number of years, Burns was well known throughout the parish and his passing comes as a shock to a host of friends. He was a member of the Baptist church and Natchez Chapter Woodmen of the World. As a member of the police jury he gave splendid service. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Addie Burns, three brothers, Alex Burns, H. H. Burns, and Robert Burns, all of Monroe and three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Allred, Mrs. Mattie Hinckle, and Miss Ella Burns also of Monroe.
