CHAMBERLAIN PASSES AWAY After an extended illness, Dr. Charles Chamberlain, one of the leading physicians and surgeons of Natchez, passed away Thursday morning about 12:30 o'clock. Dr. Chamberlain had been ill for sometime past and had only recently re- turned home following a trip for his health. Although still a young man, Dr. Chamberlain had achieved a brilliant career as a physician and surgeon and was considered one of the leading members of his profession in the country. Dr. Chamberlain at one time owned and operated the Chamberlain Sanitarium, now the Natchez Sanitorium and at the time of his death was connected with the Chamberlain Rice Hospital. During the world war he was one of the first to volunteer and saw active services overseas. Dr. Chamberlain was a member of a family long prominent in Natchez and was esteemed as a citizen and admired as a man. Generous, charitable, tolerant and courteous at all times, Dr. Chamberlain was greatly loved, and his death comes as a great loss to the community.
