EMILY CONEY

   Services for Emily Coney, 84, a lifelong resident of Jonesville were 
held Saturday, October 12, 1996 at Trinity Presbyterian Church under the 
direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.
   The Rev. Jack Ruffin officiated.
   Burial followed at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young's.
   Ms. Coney died October 10 at Riverland Medical Center.
   She was born October 3, 1912 in Glade, La.  A graduate of Normal State 
College, she was a retired school teacher having taught fourth grade at
Jonesville for 40 years.  She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher's
Sorority, D.A.R., and Trinity Presbyterian Church of Jonesville where she
served as an Elder.  She received a national award as a life member of
Women of the Church.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. W. C. Coney and Carrie Coney,
brother, C. B. Coney, and sister, Helen C. Armstrong.
