DAVIS, JOE G.

   Services for Joe G. Davis, 88, of Jonesville, were held Sunday, January
11, 1998 at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church of Jonesville under the 
direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.
   The Rev. Jimmy Pyle officiated assisted by Dr. Charles Scott.
   Burial followed at Jena Cemetery, Jena, La., under the direction of Young's
Funeral Home.
   He died Thursday, January 8, 1998 at Riverland Medical Center in
Ferriday.
   Davis was born June 12, 1909 in Jonesville.  He was a member of First
Methodist Church of Jonesville, former owner of Joe Davis Supermarket, former
member of Board of Directors of Catahoula-LaSalle Bank and served on the 
Jonesville Town Council for 29 years.  He was a lifelong resident of Jonesville.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie R. Davis.
