She was a previous mayor of Jonesville for four years; alderman on City Council for 12 years; former president of Jonesville Jr. Guild; former president of C.A.R.C.; a board member of La. Soybean Festival and the owner of Park and Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Morris, three brothers, one sister and her parents. She was born December 25, 1916 in Bauxite, Ark. to James and Louisa Bearden Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of Crosby Baptist Church in Crosby, Miss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Prichard and her parents. He was born March 5, 1934 in Sicily Island to Ivy and Mattie Patten. He was a farmer and also worked for the Alaskan Pipeline. He was a member of Lake Lilly Baptist Church and the Local 798 Pipeliners Union. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son and two brothers, Bobby and David Patten. The Revs. Gary Norris and James Foster officiated. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery in Deville, La. under the direction of Hixson Brothers. Sanson died Monday, December 18 at Cabrini Hospital of Alexandria. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Sanson. Survivors include three daughters, Irma Graham, Nebo; Janelle Barnes, Jonesville; Thana Sanson, West Monroe; two sons Joe Sanson, Ridgecrest; Alvin Sanson, Jonesville; one sister, Irma McClendon, Fishville, La.; one brother, Willie Hatfield, Nebo; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services for William S. Blaney Jr., 91, of Clayton were held Thursday, December 21, 2000 at Comer Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Comer. Burial followed at New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer. Bros. Herbert Whitten, Ken Hoots and Hershel Clanton officiated. Blaney died Monday, December 18, 2000. He was born August 2, 1909. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Cash Bayou and was retired owner of Blaney's Oil Field Construction Company in Jonesville. He was also a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, George W. Blaney, a grandson, "Little" George Blaney and a granddaughter, Lois Blaney Nicholson. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Blackmon Blaney, Clayton; grandson, Paul Blaney, Florida; granddaughters, Glenda Kinnebreu, Shreveport and Deborah Taylor, Florida; daughter-in-law, Eiko Blaney, Natchez; brother, J. M. Blaney, Harrisonburg; eight great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. Cloyd, 69, of Ferriday were held Saturday, December 23, 2000 at Young's Funeral Home under the direction of Young's. The Revs. Bobby Cruse and Don Bush officiated. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery under direction of Young's. Cloyd died Thursday, December 21 in Natchez. He was born November 29, 1931 in West Monroe to Harvey and Emma Skipper Cloyd. He was a serviceman for Louisiana Power and Light for 42 years and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, the Ferriday Masonic Lodge #390, Barak Shrine Temple, Monroe Scottish Rites, National Rifle Association, Plural member Peace and Harmony Lodge #478 in Sulfur, La.; Vidalia Chapter Royal Arch; Vidalia Council #40; Knights Temple Commendery #007; Tri Parish Shrine Club and Delta Chapter #159 order of Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marshall Cloyd. Survivors include his wife, Arlene Cloyd, Ferriday; children, Cathy and husband Charles Gamberi, Natchez; David and wife Cathy Cloyd, Westlake, La.; Bruce A. The Rev. Russell will officiate. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Gloster, Miss. under the direction of Laird. Stephens died Sunday, December 24, at his residence. He was born October 2, 1931 in Wisner to Ed and Eunice Lee Guice Stephens. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from International Paper Company in 1996 after 41 1/2 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Stephens; two sons, Terry Stephens and Butch Reeves; his parents and a sister, Patsy Stephens. Survivors include two daughters, Amarlyllis "Ann" Hardy, Ferriday and Susan Hinson, Pineville; three sons, Nolan Stephens, Vidalia; Billy Reeves, Pineville; Charles Reeves, Natchez; three sisters, Edna Rio, Bastrop; Jeanette Wingate and Jo Ann Pierce both of Bridge City, Texas and one brother, Keith Stephens, Sicily Island.
