   Funeral services for George J. Godwin, 87, were held at Scott Cemetery at Monterey at
3:00 P.M. Thursday with Rev J.O. McNair, of Jonesville, officiating.  Mr. Godwin died 
at the White Clinic at Jonesville.  A native of Springfield, Illinois, Mr Godwin had lived
in the Monterey community since boy hood.  He was a member of the Monterey Church of
Christ.  Youngs Funeral home of Ferriday was in charge of the arrangements.
   Survivors include 2 sons, Joe Godwin of Monterey, George Godwin of Saluda,S.C. and a
 daughter, Mrs Lucien Ledoux of New Orleans.  He is also survived by 2 grand children.
