MABLE JOHNSON JACOBS

   Services for Mable Johnson Jacobs, 86, of Shreveport and formerly
of Ferriday were held Monday, March 22, 1999 at 12 p.m. at Galilee
Baptist Church in Shreveport under the direction of Heavenly Gates
Funeral Home of Shreveport.
   The Rev. Ernest Jones officiated.
   Burial followed at Natchez Cemetery under the direction of 
Heavenly Gates.
   Jacobs died Friday, March 19, 1999 at Grace Home Hospital in
Shreveport.
   She was a retired receptionist for Concordia Funeral Home.  She
was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church of Ferriday where she served
on the Usher Board before moving to Shreveport to live with her 
daughter.  While living in Shreveport, she was a member of Galilee
Baptist Church.
