The Revs. Frank Bass and Dale Patten officiated. Burial followed at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, LA under direction of Young's. Ford died Saturday, January 12 at E. A. Conway Hospital in Monroe. He was born January 23, 1939 in Jonesville to Henry and Lottie Ford. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and a member of Lake Lilly Baptist Church in Sandy Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Marie Ford, Jonesville; two sons, Michael Ford, Jonesville; David Ford Jr., Olla, LA; one daughter, Nelva Stump, Jonesville; two sisters, Myrtis Barnhill, Ridgecrest; Rose King, Jones- ville; one brother, D. H. Ford, Olla; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dale Bass, Don Lemay, Kelby Patten, Leon Patten, Melvin Purvis and Adam Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were James Deville and Jewel King. EDGAR FUSSELL Services for Edgar "Mr. Ed" Fussell, 62, of Vidalia will be held Thursday, January 10, 2002 at 10am at Young's Funeral Home under the direction of Young's. The Rev. Eddie Reynolds will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel All Faith in St. Francesville under direction of Young's. Fussell died Monday, January 7 at Natchez Community Hospital. He was born April 22, 1939 in Jena to Morris and Blanche Fussell. He was a Security Officer at Angola Prison and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Virgie Forsythe-Fussell, Vidalia; four daughters, Ella Forsythe, Murphreesboro, CO; Edna Rockhold, Winnsboro; Connie Fussell, Colorado; Regina Forsythe, Murtessboro, LA; three sons, Edgar Fussell, Ronnie Fussell and Terry Fussell all of Lawrenceville, GA and one brother, Virgil Fussell, Newellton. Pallbearers will be Douglas Dooley, Edgar Fussell Jr., John Lester Fussell, Ronnie Fussell, Terry Fussell and Virgil Fussell. DAVID GARDNER GRAVES Services for David Gardner Graves, 12, of Pelham, AL were held Saturday, January 5, 2002 at Ridout's Southern Heritage. Dr. Danny Wood officiated. Burial followed at Jefferson Memorial Gardens South. Graves died Thursday, January 3. He was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church and attended the Linda Nolen Learning Center. He was a faithful Pelham Panther fan and a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Survivors include his parents, Barry and Lisa Graves; two brothers, John and Chad Graves all of Pelham, AL; grandparents, Bob and Peggy Graves, Vestavia and Glynn and Pat Gardner, Monroe and formerly of Ferriday; great grandmother, Alice Graves, Trussville; and several special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Memorials can be made to charity or church of choice. FRANK LAPRAIRIE Services for Frank LaPrairie, 97, of Jonesville were held Friday, January 11, 2002 at Larto Baptist Church under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The Revs. Lloyd Trisler, Russell Crum and Mack Walker officiated. Burial followed at Pease Cemetary in Larto under direction of Young's. LaPrairie died Wednesday, January 9 at The Columns Nursing Home in Jones- ville. He was born January 8, 1905 in Pineville to Mike and Millie LaPrairie. He was a farmer and a school bus driver for 33 years. He was also a mem- ber of Larto Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ida LaPrairie; one son, Mike LaPrairie; one daughter, Neva LaPrairie; one grandchild and three great grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, Frank LaPrairie Jr., Keithville, LA; George LaPrairie, Larto; Nelson LaPrairie, Jonesville; Ronnie LaPrairie, Natchez; four daughters, Bernice McNight, Monterey; Barbara Stermer, Gonzales, Helen Ashley, Woodville, MS; Jeanett Denny, Monterey; 32 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. TROY C. MCMANUS Graveside services for Troy C. "Red" McManus, 76, of Vidalia were held Sunday, January 13, 2002 at Masonic Cemetery in Crowville, LA under direction of Laird. Burial followed at Masonic Cemetery under direction of Laird. McManus died Friday, January 11 at Natchez Community Hospital. He was born June 3, 1925 in Crowville to Claude and Jessie Fergson McManua. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. and was a U.S. Marine Veteran serving in World War II. Suvivors include two sons, Michael McManus, Nashville, TN; Kenneth McManus, Monroe; one daughter, Leigh Ann Sanderson, Winnsboro; stepchildren, Joyce Frederick, Vidalia; John Haddick, Brighton, CO; Linda Murphy, Hamburg, AR; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Earl McManus, Vidalia and two sisters, Loyce Harper, Vidalia and Florice Turnage, Winnsboro. COY PURDION Funeral services for Coy Purdion, 68, of Clarksville, AR will be held Saturday, January 19, 2002 at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday. Visitation will be Friday, January 18 from 5-9pm at Young's. Purdion died Wednesday, January 16 in Clarksville, AR. ALMA C. ROY Services for Alma C. Roy, 89, of Ferriday will be held Saturday, January 19, 2002 at 11am at The First Baptist Church of Ferriday with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating. Burial will follow at The Ferriday Cemetery under direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home of Ferriday. Mrs. Roy died Saturday, January 12 at St. Francis Cabrini in Alexandria. Visitation will be Friday, January 18 from 6-8pm at the church. Survivors include two sons, Harry Roy and Joe Roy both of Ferriday; two daughters, Vina Collins, New Orleans; Peggy Merely, Aughton, LA; one brother, Charlie Carr, Ferriday; two sisters, Lubertha Graham, Monroe and Beatrice Gage, Ferriday. Pallbearers will be Herman Ceasor, Jimmy Price, Veron Ray Platt, Sherman Brown, Amberson Wade and Willie Wheeler.
