MONTPELIER, NEWT

     Services for Newt Montpelier, 95, a lifelong resident of Jonesville were
held Saturday, December 12, 1998 at 2 p.m. at Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church
under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
     The Revs. Norris Poole and Mickey Gallup officiated.
     Burial followed at Heard's Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of
Young's.
     He died Thursday, December 10, 1998 at Columns Rehab Center in Jonesville.
     Montpelier was born July 8, 1903 in Catahoula Parish.  He was a retired farmer
and city employee. 
     He was preceded in death by his wife, Loberta Montpelier.
