All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** January 1, 1997 ALICE LIVAUDAIS PIPES A funeral mass service was celebrated for Alice Livaudais Pipes, 102, of Baton Rouge on December 31, 1996 at St. Francis Catholic Church at Calhoun. Burial was at Hasley Cemetery under the direction Mulhearn's Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mrs. Pipes died December 28 in Baton Rouge. She was born in Vidalia on November 3, 1894, the daughter of Fanny Hough Livaudais and Adolph Dugue Livaudais. She was a graduate of Rayville High School and Louisiana State Normal College, now Northwestern University in Natchitoches. In 1989 she was honored by the establishment of an award for excellence in musical performance in her name at the university. Mrs. Pipes taught for several years in Ouachita Parish Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop N. Pipes and a son, Robert Pipes.
