The Rev. Rick Lindsay officiated. Rice died Thursday, March 11 at his home. He was born June 8, 1927 to Charles Thomas and Oma Beatrice Heath Rice in Mt. Carmel, Ill. He was retired. Rice was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Marine Corps 29th Regiment, 5th Division, 5th Amphibious at Iwo Jima and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Sweeney Rice, his parents and one brother, Arthur Rice of Denver, Colo. Survivors omitted for privacy protection
