HUBERT RAYMOND SHAIFER

   Services for Hubert Raymond Shaifer, 84, of Natchez were held
Monday, March 22, 1999 at the Laird Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m.
under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
   The Rev. Dan Robertson officiated.
   Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird.
   Shaifer died Friday, March 19, 1999 at Natchez Community Hospital.
   He was born August 28, 1914 in Jena to Wesley and Lottie Taylor Shaifer.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Legion, Elks and the 
Moose Lodge.  He was a World War II Army Veteran having served in the South
Pacific, 1943-1946.  He was also an insurance salesman retiring in 
1980 from Life of Georgia Insurance Company.
