R. Hollingsworth, handling in connection with the general business of his planting interests merchandise and plantation supplies. William Rochelle Hollingsworth was born at Keatchie, Louisiana, October 15, 1856, son of William Wallace and Sarah E. (McCracken) Hollingsworth. Owing to poor eyesight his formal education in schools was limited. Most of his early training was acquired while a pupil under Rev. Edward Eels, who for many years conducted a boys' school at Keatchie. Mr. Hollingsworth married Miss Annie A. Hollingsworth, daughter of Major Robert Bruce and Sarah E. (Atkins) Hollingsworth. There were three sons, two of whom are living, C. W. and; W. R., Jr., who conduct the business under the firm name of W. R. Hollingsworth's Sons. A History of Louisiana, (vol. 2), p. 189, by Henry E.
