No communication is allowed, and any attempt on the part of pupils to cultivate acquaintance will be severely punished. By having two departments separate, and by forbidding all intercourse, there are virtually two colleges, and all the disadvantages of mixed schools are avoided. By having all the pupils meet at chapel service and in the class room, all the advantages claimed for co-education are secured. UNIFORMS _____________________________________________________________________________ The promote economy is to avoid rivalry in dress, the girls are required, on public occasions to wear the following prescribed uniforms: For Winter-- Navy blue cashmere or cashmerette trimmed with same, with sack of same material lined with flannel Hat-- to be selected For Summer--White lawn, trimmed with same Hat-- to be selected Any pupil not provided with uniform will be excused from appearing in public with the school. Uniforms must be in accordance with prescribed regulations. The slightest deviation will not be allowed. ___________________________ Parents and guardians know that it is important that pupils should be present on the first day of the session. It is equally important that they remain to the end of the session. Any absence is a serious loss; any break in the exercise is detrimental to the best interests of the pupil, hence there is no vacation at Christmas. It is an undeniable fact that pupils who enter without the expectation of visiting home during the session, remain contented and make better progress than those whose work is interrupted by such visits. The young ladies are not permitted to receive communications or visit from young gentleman, nor are they permitted to spend the night out of the college. Parents are earnestly requested to ask no departure from this rule. Making accounts at stores, except in cases authorized by parents is prohibited. It is a mistaken kindness to send boxes of provisions to pupils. Such boxes are frequently sources of excess, sickness and loss of time. Each pupil must furnish his own table napkins, napkin ring, towels and toilet articles. All articles must be distinctly marked. Borrowing text books, clothing, jewelry and other articles is positively forbidden. ____________________________________________________________________________ Tuition (Collegiate Department) 25.00 Elocution 10.00 Bookkeeping 10.00 Telegraphy 15.00 Incidental fee 1.00 School of Music Instrumental 25.00 Vocal 25.00 Vocal and Instrumental 45.00 Practice The use of piano or organ 5.00 (one hour and a half a day) School of Art Regular Course 25.00 Drawing in Pencil 10.00 Drawing in Charcoal 10.00 Drawing in Crayon 15.00 Painting in Water Colors 20.00 Painting in Oil 30.00 (still life, landscape and portrait) China Decoration 30.00 Lustre Painting 15.00 Ornamental Needle Work, 5.00 (Kensington Embroidery, etc., ten lessons) Pupils are required to furnish their own towels, bed clothing and pillows.
