Davis, wife of Glen Davis, who died Saturday evening following a months illness of pneumonia. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. McNair Smith, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member, at her home in Park Place, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. W. C. Bennett, of the First Baptist church assisted at the services. Interment was in the Gamble Cemetery, four miles west of Grand Cane, under the direction of the Drewett Funeral home. Pall Bearers were O.B. Buck, T. H. Campbell Jr., M. H. Rogers, W. Raymond Moore, H. G. Hammer, F. E. Rogers Sr., and W. T. Rascoe. The deceased was born in DeSoto Parish, near Smyrna, but came to Mansfield a number of years ago. She was an educator of more than passing note, and was a former popular teacher in the Mansfield elementary schools. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Brock of Oak Grove, Mrs. Ross Gamble of Mena, Ark., and Miss Margaret McMichael of Schreveport. Mrs. Davis was a woman of sweet and lovable character, and counted her friends by the score. The numerous messages of sympathy that poured into the home, the wealth of flowers, and the host of friends who called to pay their last tributes of love, attested to the affection and esteem in which she was held.
