Hamilton, wife of Rascoe Hamilton, died Friday morning at the Curtis Clinic, after a lingering illness. She was a life-long resident of Mansfield, having been born in the parish January 4, 1898, the daughter of J.D. and Ellie Howell Williams, both of whom were members of pioneer families of DeSota. Funeral services were conducted in the First Baptist Church, Saturday, May 10, at 3PM Dr. George A. Richey, the pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Scott Tatum of Shreveport. Interment was in Highland Cemetery, under the direction of the Drewett Funeral Home. Mrs Hamilton is survived by her husband, Rascoe Hamilton, three children, Ralph of Shreveport; Mrs Frank C. Eason of Monroe,Rose Margaret Hamilton, of Mansfield; three grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother O,D.Williams of Tulsa,Okla., Six sisters: Mrs H.E. Robertson Mansfield, Mrs Dillard Parry, Logansport;Mrs Wayne Smith andMrs Bill James, Mansfield: Mrs Al Jones and Mrs Glenn Overmanof Sulphur. In the passing of Mrs Hamilton the community has lost a beloved woman and useful citizen. Until her busy life was so suddenly checked a year ago by disease, she was quite active in religious and civic activies. Submitted by her niece
