R. commission, was born at Baton Rouge, La., Aug. 7, 1871, and is a son of the late Gen. Leon Jastremski. He was reared in Baton Rouge, and was educated in the public schools, at the Louisiana State university, Jefferson college, of St. James parish, and the University of Alabama, at Tuscaloosa. He is a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, and of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He has long been active in politics as a democrat, and has served as secretary of the State School for the Deaf, and as vice-president of the board of trustees for that institution. He has also served as secretary of the State Board of Appraisers, which position he resigned to accept his present office as secretary of the State R. R. commission. In 1905, Mr. Jastremski was married to Miss Frances Holloway, of Georgetown, Ky. Unto Mr. and Mrs. Jastremski, 1 daughter has been born, namely, Sarah Land Jastremski.
