She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Mary Edith (Jacque) DeRogers. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and John Cockrell and Deborah and Ty Harton, of Columbus, Ohio, and Brenda and Jency Williams, of Harvey; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Angela Brent, of Arlington, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Ferman and Leander DeRogers; eight sisters and two brothers-in-law, Edna Smith, Agnes Gosserand, Rose Celestine, Theresa Dundy, Ann Volta, Marjorie Martin and Mary and George Norwood, and Catherine and James Spencer; and sister-in-law, Hazel and husband Leo Brown, of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Robert Brent III; and siblings, Hazel DeRogers, Sadie Gauthier and Phillip DeRogers Jr. Eloise was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Baton Rouge for more than 65 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of St. Peter Claver Court 12 for 62 years and 4th Degree Chapter 9 since its beginning. She was also a founding prayer warrior with the St. Francis Xavier Prayer and Retreat Group and a member of the neighborhood Wednesday Rosary Club and Needle Workers' Sewing Club. She was very well known for her homemade candles and cakes, as well as her red beans (which she never ate). Funeral services will take place at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. in Marrero on Tuesday, July 8. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. followed by rosary and Ladies Auxiliary rituals at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. with Bishop Shelton Fabre officiating. Visitation and dismissal service will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 809 New Roads St. in New Roads on Wednesday, July 9. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by interment in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery.
