He was born in Magnolia, Miss., to John David Easley and Brennice Wilson Easley. He was a passionate artist, specializing in watercolor painting. He favored painting Southern architecture, flowers and street scenes. Recently won Best in Show for his Italian inspired watercolor "Basilica at St. Marks" in the Texas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging 18th Annual "Art is Ageless" contest. He began his art career by studying at The Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fla., after which he moved to New York City. Painting consumed his retirement years, during which he produced many beautiful compositions. Preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Margaret Simmons Easley; and a brother, John David Easley Jr. Survived by his siblings, Clarence Easley, of Magnolia, and Sue Murray, of Baton Rouge. Mr. Easley leaves four children, Todd Easley and wife Judi, of McComb, Miss., Melissa Dill and husband Lewis, of Baton Rouge, Jonathan Easley and Allyson Connelly and husband Coy, all of Houston; and eight grandchildren, Christina Dill, Emily Easley, Skylar Easley, Jordan Easley, Nicholas Easley, Kenna Easley, Margaret Connelly and Mary Cate Connelly. Services and burial will take place this weekend in Mississippi.
