Graveside service will be at St. Ann's Mausoleum in Morganza. Mary Louise was born Jan. 16, 1924, and died early Thursday morning, July 17, 2008, at her home after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in New Orleans and was the daughter of Joseph and Louise Trombatore. She was an only child with an extended family of many adoring aunts, uncles and a number of very close and caring cousins. Mary Louise was a total movie buff, which inspired her at a young age to be interested in dance and singing. Around the age of 17, she sang on a New Orleans radio station. She was a high school graduate of St. Joseph Academy of New Orleans. During World War II, she did her patriotic part by working in an airplane factory in New Orleans. She moved to Batchelor in Pointe Coupee Parish upon her marriage to the love of her life, Joseph H. "Joe" Grezaffi. They had four children. She was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who lived life to the fullest. She was known as "Malo" to most. She loved living in the country, as she called it, after being raised in the city. She took pride in being a homemaker and enjoyed the farm life. She was a strong woman of faith who was very independent and who loved her family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 34 years, Joseph H. Grezaffi; and son, Stephen A. Grezaffi. Survived by her daughter, Judith L. Grezaffi, of California; sons, L.J. Grezaffi and wife Jude, of New Roads, and Paul J. Grezaffi and wife Peggy, of Batchelor; grandchildren, Luke Grezaffi Jr. and Jamie Graves, Lyle Grezaffi, Tyler Grezaffi, Joseph and Lori Grezaffi, Jeff and Melenda Grezaffi, and Brandi and Johnny Chustz; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Andrew, Coi, Ranken, Brogue, Baylor, Tres and Cody Grezaffi, Riley, McCall and Landon Chustz; sisters-in-law, Hazel "Zel" Grezaffi, Mary "Bell" Grezaffi, and Sadie and husband Red Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Dottie Lou Ewing and Theresa Flint; special girlfriends, Eloise Delaune and Lisa Underwood. And last but certainly not least, her companion Chihuahua, Nicki! Special thanks to caretaker and friend Beverly Roberts, caretaker Diane Robertson, and housekeeper Cathy Battley. Pallbearers will be Luke Grezaffi Jr., Lyle Grezaffi, Tyler Grezaffi, Joseph Grezaffi, Jeff Grezaffi and Kerry Callegan. Her family cannot begin to thank Pointe Coupee Hospice enough for the excellent care and compassion that they gave to her and her family during her illness. Her favorite charities were St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and, because of the animal lover that she was, Pointe Coupee Parish Animal Shelter.
