He was 62, a native of Weyanoke and a resident of Baton ROuge. Wake services from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday at Mt.Zion Baptist Church. Religious services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church conducted by the Rev. George C. Pierce. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Lelia T. Grimes; two daughters, Mrs Annie Tate and Mrs. Jessie Pursley, both of Baton Rouge, and a son, Booker T. Johnson; eight sisters, two brothers, and six grandkids. Preceded in death by his father, William Grimes; mother, Emma Lynn Grimes; a brother, Champ Grimes and a sister, Missie G. Berrell. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Progress Road, and the senior choir. Scott's Bluff Morticians in charge of arrangements.
