She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church, where she served with the Deaconess Ministry. Visitation at Richardson Funeral Home, La. 10, Clinton, on Sunday, July 20, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visitation continues at Gloryland Baptist Church, 2575 Michelli Drive, on Sunday from 5 p.m. until religious service at 7 p.m., the Rev. Rayford T. Iglehart officiating. Dismissal on Monday, July 21, at 11 a.m., with interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by two sons, Neil Hughes Sr., St. Louis, and Ronald Hughes, Chicago; eight daughters and six sons-in-law, Jeffrietta and James Thompson, Las Vegas, Brenda Morgan, Port Allen, Althea and John Morris, Addis, Bertha and Charles Jones, Linda and Oscar Tillman, Jocelyn and Edwin Cooks, Ramona Johnson, and Pamela and Barry Guy, all of Baton Rouge; two stepdaughters, Leola Victor and spouse Joseph, Baton Rouge, and Carol McCoy, Chicago; a stepson, Willie Hughes, New Orleans; two stepdaughters-in-law, Doritha Hughes, New Orleans, and Elvet Hughes, Baton Rouge; 26 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Hughes; her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
