Herb proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II after which he was employed by Exxon Chemical for 36 years. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they adored him. He was King of Mardi Gras at Diamondhead, Miss. He enjoyed his active retirement as an avid golfer and gardener and ran golf tournaments for the March of Dimes. Preceded in death by his brother, Donald Larson. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie; his children, Marjorie Kopacsi and husband Joseph, Melanie Bergeron and husband David, Rodney Larson and wife Carol, and Marianne Serle and husband Mark; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Marian Sliek; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service was held Saturday, July 5, at 6 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North in San Antonio. The Rev. Charles Kachan officiated. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
