Alvin "Roy" Maiden, age 55, died at his home at 9:10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, in Baton Rouge. He was a native of Baton Rouge. A member of St. Joseph Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Visitation at Winnfield Funeral Home on Monday, July 7, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Religious service at St. Joseph Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 8, at 11 a.m., conducted by Donald Grim, pastor. Survived by a devoted wife of 25 years, Mrs. Etta Mae Maiden, of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Loretta Logan, Tamika Walker and husband Steven, and Latonya Logan and husband Randy; a son, Murry Lee Logan III and wife; three sisters, Brenda Byrum, of Summerville, S.C., Evelyn Denise Maiden Lee and Angie Dasiey Weber and husband Richard, all of Baton Rouge; a brother, Jimmy Ray Maiden, of Zachary; an uncle, Alvin Booker and wife Racheal; 10 grandchildren, two godchildren, Shawn Black and Bevelry Robinson; a great- grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Hopkins; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents, an uncle, Jimmy Ray Franklin; and three aunts, Daisy Lee Johnson, Annie Mae Maiden and an aunt who died at a young age.
