Florence McGahee Mitchell, age 88, a former cashier at National Food Store and 
a former assistant manager at Ledet's Supermarket in Larose, died at 7:10 a.m. 
Saturday, July 5, 2008, at the Butterfly Wing of Ollie Steele Burden Manor. A 
resident of Larose and a native of Pittsburg, Texas. Visiting at Falgout 
Funeral Home, Galliano, on Monday, July 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graveside 
service at Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg at a time pending. Survived by a 
daughter and son-in-law, Theresa H. and R. Dennis Rodgers, of Prairieville; a 
son, David W. Evans, of Baytown, Texas; five grandchildren, Lisa Evans 
Boudreaux, Morgan City, David M. Evans, Baytown, Melissa Rodgers Snoddy, Baton 
Rouge, Mitchell Rodgers and Megan Rodgers, both of Prairieville; five great-
grandchildren, Evan David Boudreaux, Kyle Boudreaux, Reese Leonard, Janie 
Rodgers and Madeleine Snoddy; special friend, Earline Chouest; and numerous 
nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Mitchell; as well 
as her brothers and sisters.
