Mrs. Tucker was born in Dyersburg, Tenn., to Mary and Myron Farley. She was married in 1943 to John T. Tucker, who preceded her in death in July 1992. They had one child, Thomas A. Tucker. Mrs. Tucker's life centered around her son and his family, her 50 years of dedicated and loyal service to Main Street Methodist Church, her volunteer work for the Methodist hospital, participation in various garden clubs, her professional career at Hattiesburg Savings and Loan Co., and her many friends in Hattiesburg. Survived by her son, Tom and wife Ellen Tucker, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Aimee Burke and husband Mark, of Hyattsville, Md., and Maj. John D. Tucker and wife Bridget, of Newnan, Ga.; and great-grandsons, John Thomas and Jack Henry. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Sunday, July 20, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A graveside ceremony will take place the following day at 1 p.m. in Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg. Memorials may be made in her name to Main Street Methodist Church in Hattiesburg.
