James Dempsey died in East Carroll, La. November 23, 1849, married in Ouachita 
Parish on December 4, by William B. Prince, J. P. to Mary Beasley; with 
Harbird Hood wits. to the wedding.
East Carroll Loose Succesions: Succ. of James Dempsey, Deed Nov. 1849; Simeon 
W. Clemond petitioned that James Dempsey had died on th 23 instant leaving no 
brothers in Carroll Parish but one sister (no children mentioned) Clemend as a 
creditor sought the administraion of the estate and was so named on 29 Nov. 
1849, by Eli Harris, Clerk and Thomas V. Davis, Parish Recorder, were ordered 
to take inventory of the estate.
