Currie's Children Filed March 13th, 1854 P.W. De France, Clerk To the Honorable the Judges of the Tenth District Court for the Parish of Carroll, State of Louisiana; The petitioner of William C. Currie of your said Parish with respect swears that his late wife Adeline Whitaker departed this life in your said Parish of Carroll in the year 1849. Shows that she left two minor children, issue of her marriage with your petitioner, viz. Abraham W. and Huldah A. D. Currie. Further shows that his said wife left some property belonging to her, viz. one certain negro girl and a small amount of money. Your petitioner shows that he is the Natural Tutor of his said minor children, and prays your Honorable Court that he be confirmed as such, and that an Under Tutor be appointed to said minor children. Further prays that Your Honor order an inventory to be made of the property of the estate of his said wife; and for all action ordering and deeming necessary and legal in the premises, and for general ? M. DuBose (?), atty for Pr. *** State of Louisiana, Parish of Carroll 10th District Court It is ordered that William C. Currie the petitioner herein be confirmed as Natural tutor of his minor children, Abraham W. and Huldah A. D. Currie, and that letters of Tutorship [be] issued to him accordingly. It is further ordered that Zachariah Thompson be appointed as Under Tutor to said minors, and It is further ordered that Sanders D. Oliver, Recorder and Notary Public, be ordered to make an inventory of the property of Adeline Whitaker, late wife of Wm. C. Currie, the petitioner herein, according to law, and make return thereof in to this Honorable Court. This 13th day of March, 1854. P. W.
